Inspired by the cycle scenes of London, Brooklyn and Minneapolis, Cycle 360 is a 5000sqft purpose-built social hub for cycling enthusiasts including a café, bike shop and fitness amenities located in the Isle of Man Business Park, Douglas.
BSA were delighted to provide structural engineering services to the project, which consisted of a composite metal deck and steel-framed superstructure with an innovative substructure solution consisting of an improvised large diameter piling technique which was used to overcome challenging ground conditions on the site of a historic pond.
Elsewhere on the site, we were also engaged to provide design assistance for the provision of a proprietary modular retaining wall system which met both the structural and aesthetic requirement of the client, which we did successfully using the Secura retaining wall system by Tobermore.
Our involvement in the project spanned from inception of the concept, through planning and on to construction and eventual completion. We are immensely proud of the outcome of this project, having successfully delivered the clients vision on time and on budget.
